The Lake Tenkiller area has a long history of flooding and tornadoes. Due to the most recent weather related events, the community around Tenkiller have joined forces in effort to sustain our beautiful lake. Trash and debris have accumulated on the shorelines and islands throughout the lake. Whether you are a community member or someone who just loves Lake Tenkiller we would love your help in making the best out of this event. Tidy Up Tenkiller is happening on October 17th. Gloves, bags and safety gear will be provided as needed, as well as lunch. There are three targeted areas to clean up on land and water. Dumpster stations will be available for trash collected. Pick your location, pick your day or pick all three! This would be a great event for a family or a school group to go out and spend some quality time doing service for a great cause. In the past when we have done this event the community has come together and done a great job with gathering trash. Some pictures will be attached below to show some of the stuff that you can expect to find while cleaning Tenkiller. You might wonder if there is any left to pick up after these huge hauls and we assure you, there is! Bring your boat, some cold (or warm) drinks, and a speaker and make a day out of it. We look forward to putting in our best efforts in order to sustain the beauty of our lake.
