Support Local

Tourism, for a small town, looks like many different things. Highlighting attractions, keeping those clean and presentable, etc. During this holiday season, we wanted to highlight one of those things that help fuel tourism.
Our local businesses are the backbone of our town. Here in Tahlequah, we have some shops that have been around for a long time and some that are new. Regardless, each shop brings its own unique trait to Tahlequah and offers something special for everyone.

Supporting these shops not only help local business, but they help tourism. When you visit a local shop and buy something you are investing in your community. We all want the town we live in to grow and prosper. Sustaining and growing our local businesses play an important role in this effort.

What can visitors and community members do?

Shop local this holiday! Visit your local shops and pick out a present for your loved ones. Finding a unique gift from a local shop can be a fun and exciting way to change up your usual gift routine this Christmas. Keep the dollars in your community and if you feel inclined, share your finds on social! Pay it forward and give a business a review. Some great places to do this are on their website, Google, and Facebook pages.

Leaving reviews can be a great way to help businesses in a non-hands on way. One good review goes a long way, especially when tourists come to town and your review was the decision-maker between one place or another. Pretty cool huh? We don’t think about small things like that but the role we play, even a minor one can make a huge impact on a small business.

Where are the shops?

We have built a page on our website specifically for those who want to find places to shop! You can visit it here. We invite all those who visit to stop by our local shops and take a part of Tahlequah home with you! We look forward to seeing you soon.

Happy Holidays,
Tour Tahlequah
